2002 Audi A6 2.7T 6-speed with 151,000 miles. Over the winter the headlight level sensor error light came on and would not go away. Now that winter is gone, it is car project season. I ran my Ross-Tech cable and the error reads as fault to ground on the rear sensor. I tried resetting the error with my cable and the error returned immediately. I took off the rear sensor off, and it looks like hell, so I can see why there must have been an error. I purchased a new to me used sensor that looked in great condition. I put the sensor on, lowered the car back to the ground and still the same exact error. Even after resetting the error with my cable, the same error for the rear sensor comes back. I checked the voltage in the measuring blocks, and the front reads ~1.8v while the rear reads ~0.02v. I tried checking the wires with a tester to see if they were getting voltage, and none of the whiles lit up, so I agree with the cable, none were getting power. Can anyone help with this? There does not seem to be too many issues that I could find like this. I have taken the fuse out and replaced it several times, still occurring with the same error. Now the one thing that might be in accordance (or may be separate) is my driver side low beam light tends to flicker and go out from time to time. Could this have anything to do with a short somewhere in the system? Do I have broken wires someplace? I doubt my new/used sensor was a dud too. Any help would be great, thanks.
