    Looking for a used Aftermarket Exhaust for a B8 S5 4.2L V8

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,
I'm looking for a used Aftermarket Exhaust for a B8 S5 4.2L V8. I'm in Pennsylvania so pick up would be nice but I am willing to pay for shipping and AWE (Touring or track) is preferred.

You and me both lol. Funny thing I'm also from PA!

I haven't seen one for the B8 4.2 in a bit, and I check daily. I'm going to probably go ahead & purchase a new AWE track beginning of June. But I figured why not save some money since once installed it's "used" anyway.

😂 I feel your pain man as soon as we get a new one it's like 400 out the window lol I think AWE is close by in PA maybe they will have a special discount for purchasing and installing there.

Ya you have to be quick to pick one up on here. I finally bought a touring one on here 2 weeks ago and it sounds amazing. Well worth the wait.

I am looking into parting my car and I have a AWE Touring exhaust for my 4.2 that I am looking to sell. At the moment it is still on the car and needs to be removed. Ironically I bought it from PA and had it shipped to CA, now it might be going right back to PA haha.

AWE is like 50 mins from me, i should call and ask if they offer free install. IF they did, as well as maybe a spring special , that would make sense. Since most places will charge $100-$200 to install.

I am still trying to decide if i want the touring or the track, i do DD the car. I will NOT be putting aftermarket down pipes on. So i would had to get the touring and wish it was just a tad louder at lower speeds. I know they both yell at high RPM, but i also do appreciate the low rpm grumble strolling around parking lots

I am more of a cruiser, so i feel the awe track might be what i want with stock down pipes. I think Non res down pipes will push it over the edge for me and be TOO loud.

Nope just called, they want $305 for install hahaha! Seems a bit high to me for someone who probably installs these ALL the time.

Muscle car restoration shop up the street from me would probably do it for $100. They have a ex Audi tech there and he charges me $65 a hour if i come up on a Saturday if i need something random done and don't have time on my hands to do it myself.

Someone over at the S4 B8 classifieds is selling a AWE track for $800 , if only we could get some of that action over here lol.

Vanimal you're right the Touring can be quiet, at idol you can't even tell you have an aftermarket exhaust but once you rev it, it's a whole 'nother story.

Yeah that is why i am 50/50 which way to go. I know ill enjoy the low grumble for my area driving light to light with the AWE track. Only time i really crank the RPM's high during the week is my drive to the gym. Its a merge onto the highway for 2 miles than i get off and the gym is right there lol.

Its like i want the track but don't want it too loud, and i don't want the touring to be too quiet for driving around town. Can't win

Yeah I'm starting to realize that lol but I'm glad you scooped one up! The touring seems like the one I'd prefer

I wish i could hear the touring in person not just on video. My friend has a AWE track WITH non res down pipes on his 2008 S5, he is not a good example for me lol.

Either way you really can't go wrong with the AWE no matter which one you choose. Ivery heard the touring and it sounds exotic with our car

You're welcome to visit Rochester and listen to / take a test drive in mine. I'd suggest picking up rooneyy's system, or there's also a 3.0T Touring system now available in the classifieds. I'm sure you'd be able to work out a deal where the total cost to you, including shipping, would be less than a new Track setup. I may be able to put you in contact with a guy that gets a heavily discounted rate through FedEx as well.

Nah he prefers it loud as it gets lol. I think Id be happy with the track with stock down pipes as . I love how a MB C63 sounds, it does sound more muscle over v8 .

I do lean towards the muscle V8 sound.

either way, I don't think its possible to be upset with any AWE pipes.

Performance doesn't necessarily improve with a new exhaust but your smiles per gallon definitely will!

Cold start in PA weather (this past winter)! It idles a tad quieter when the engine warms up.

Seriously, why does that have to be?! Or Or, you could drive here, buy and have it installed and enjoy the 2700 (5400 mile roundtrip) mile scenic drive home with the roaring exhaust behind you! Not a bad idea right? haha

Question. Are the AWE exhausts interchangeable? Will my 4.2L Touring exhaust work on a 3.2L?

Back when I first purchased my DPs, AWE informed me that 3.0 and 4.2 DPs are the same. Exhausts are different.

I have a full 3.0T AWE Touring Exhaust with non-res DPs on my 4.2L S5. It just required a custom-fabbed 3' extension that fits nicely between the DPs and the rest of the exhaust. since the 3.0T system is shorter in length compared to the 4.2L. I'm not sure if a 4.2L exhaust will fit the 3.0T without cutting the pipes.
