    Aftermarket B6 S4 brakes?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a B6 S4 with aftermarket calipers & rotors that has been sitting for quite some time, and the rotors and pads are in horrible condition and have to be replaced. The only problem is that I bought the car with aftermarket brakes so I don't know what size rotors & pads I need. All of the brake components are made by Alcon, but unfortunately I can't seem to find any information on them for the B6 S4. The front calipers are Alcon (not sure what size) and the back are stock, but all 4 rotors are aftermarket. Any recommendations for rotors + pads? I want to find the cheapest solution, because this is my beater and I am not looking to make this a track monster.

If you have an Alcon bbk, your front rotors are going to cost you a lot, ~$800, regardless of what size they are.

Contact Adam's Rotors and he should be able to help you source the information on your kit and provide the most reasonable cost (although it will still be high).

Alternatively you could swap back to stock calipers/rotors...

I sent an email to Adams, waiting to hear what they say. I found stock refurbished front calipers for only $110. Unless I can get a great deal from Adams I think I might just go with them and sell my Alcons. I have no need for them anyway.

Adams rotors are just oem's or cheap blanks that he then makes to the spec you want (painted, anodized, drilled, slotted). Basically he just does aesthetic stuff do them. Unless you are just really into that sort of thing then you might as well just buy blanks yourself.

Now an Alcon setup is pretty nice quality and would sell for a good price if you decided to go back to the stock setup. Also $110 is a GREAT price for S4 calipers. I have sold sets from parts cars for much more. While the Alcon setup is much nicer, you will pay a high price for replacement discs or complete rotors. IIRC you can only buy the replacement discs for one of the Alcon setups. The other you have to buy a whole new rotor (i.e. rotor disc and hat together).
