    Key Fob Woes....anyone pair a 3button instead of a 2 button?

    My 2 button has had its day and a buddy gave me an old 3 button remote (with trunk pop)... I cant seem to get it to pair up any ideas? is it even possible?

    Ive been following the procedure and got no where (confirmed with vcds)

    I buy the 3 button China remotes and they work just fine on the 3 different b5s I've had over the years, check the part number maybe it's not a compatible number.

    I have 3 switchblades that are to my b5 sedan that are 3 buttons and my last b5 had a 3 button fob too.
    You probably have a different key fob. I know there are 2 styles of 3 buttons that are the same shape and only one of them works I believe. If it's the right one then try clearing all existing remotes from the central locks memory because it might be full (you can only program up to 4 key fobs on b5s)

    this one has an IMMO transmitter, the original 2 button does not...

    What are the confirmed working 3 button part #s you guys have?

    4D0837231P for the one on my keychain right now. the other two are at the house so ill have to check those later. ill probably forget though since its my birthday and everyone wants to hang out

    the one I have is 8ZO-837-231-F. I dont thnkk its compatible ...

    thats a late vin B6 fob, def not compatible, try one from a C5A6, those are the ones that the 3 button I have corresponds to.
