My Bilstein B12 Pro-kit arrives tomorrow (sedan)!

Please post what you are doing with your bumpstops and how the ride is compared to stock. There are a some conflicting opinions on here. Some people remove them, some trim them according to the drop, some leave them stock.

Looks sweet! I have the bilstein sports but with H&R OE's. Nicely firm for a DD, tolerable but there can be times I wish they were softer. Otherwise I love them on the Highways and twisties, and the drop is just right for me.

The bump stops should be trimmed accordingly. Or you'll ride on them. It wil effect the ride, and the drop.

I was wondering about this too. I left mine in and did not trim. Does it differ with the OEM sport suspension bump stops? My car had the sport suspension before this kit was installed. The ride seems only slightly lower now, but much firmer.

You still have to trim the sport bumpstops to compensate for the 1.2"-1.4" drop from the regular suspension. I think the sport suspension is like 3/4" lower than standard.

I've seen mixed answers regarding the bump stops too... Some people say that the front Bilstein struts have a bump stop built in and to not reuse them in the front, just the rear... Will be getting my kit soon, not sure what to do.

I'm one of those people. They do have internal stops. But, if you bottom out the cage mount will come into contact with the strut body. So what I ended up doing was taking the 1.2" piece that I cut of the rear, and installing it in the front. You'll never come in contact with it during normal driving, but it will give you some cushion if you bottom out. Lettuce just did his install with my bumbstop method, and is very happy.

I've reinstalled this suspension twice because of the bumpstop issues. And I can confirm that they have to be cut down. Installing the trimmings on the front is the best way.

For the B12 ProKit, you re-use your stock bump stops front and rear, doesn't really matter if they are sport or non-sport suspension, for the B12 SportLine Kit, Eibach provides you with new front bump stops which are the same overall length as sport bumpstops but have a plastic reinforced top (if Eibach felt you needed new bumpstops for the prokit they would have included them), leave the rears alone. I have installed the prokit on my wifes car and i have the sportline kit on my car, didn't cut any bumpstops and they both ride great.

And this is the advice that you gave me before I installed mine. And guess what? The rear of my car was 3/4" higher than the front. Even after a month. So I jacked up the rear, pulled down the bumpstop and lowered the car down slowly. I then raised the car again, and wouldn't you know, the bumpstop was back in place. Your car WILL ride on the rear stops if they are not trimmed. It is a fact. I trimmed down the rears by 1.2". And left the front ones off. The rear of my car instantly lowered an aditional 3/4". So now it was 26" to the front fender, and 26 1/4 to the rear. I ended up installing the trimmings from the rear on the front because of the metal on metal contact from bottoming out. And it is the ideal set up. From my actual experience your car will feel bumpy, and won't drop properly if you leave the factory stops alone. Period. The end.

The ride was also very bumpy before I trimmed the rear stops. It didn't feel right at all.

They do...but I got the one for an A4 so it will come down to a more reasonable height...and by reasonable I mean another 1.4inches lower.

Because of the extra weight of the AR. I'm assuming the rear is heavier than an A4.

argg thats a bit too low for me. Bought the pss10 then having second thought thinking it might be over--kill but then again.. it's appears the pss10 is the only one that will offer a 10-15mm drop.

Retrofit OEM sport suspension. I found the Eibachs to be too low for my use case, but my current car has the sports setup and I couldn't be happier with it. No terrible wheel gap, but I can clear speed bumps and parking lot entrances no problem.

... have you seen a non-Sport A4? 2 finger gap is close enough. You should see the speed bumps in my complex; @ryanhmusic and @lambda13 and @goreckless can attest.
