what's this part made of, china grade plastic? good greif, over 300 dollars lol..
ran over a fucking truck tire on the highway (only a small 1/4 size piece of the tire) and it ripped this part right off. luckily no big damage, but will have to repaint my front bumper as it scuffed it and cracked some of the paint and must of caused one of the fog grille covers come off.. there is a small clipped wire harness that was connected to something? its like a harness that doesn't plug into anything except mounted to some part of the lower bumper near the splitter. no pics atm..

Pics would help, should wrap that piece in CF. Argon Creative also sells it in CF IIRC for around the same price.

are they overseas? add another $150 for shipping lol.. it's beyond me why this part cost so much. it cost more than the bumper trim that is made from aluminum.. i'll try to snap some pics.

The harness is for ambient temp sensor.

That's expensive for the part, but keep in mind they sunk a lot into tooling for that for a fairly limited production run, they also have to stock them and ship all over the world. A good bit goes into parts like that beyond whats immediately apparent.

Then again, $300 is pretty outrageous.

Argon Creative is in UK and charges outrageous shipping. If the part gets damaged during shipping, you are SOL. Or if the item is defective, you are SOL. Shit company, really.

where is the ambient temp sensor on the RS4?
As best I can tell, there are two. One is located right above the lower splitter clipped into a hole in the bumper. The other is somewhere else, but reads ~10F warmer.
