    Tools and Space for Lowering

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi, I have a set of KW Height Adjustable Springs for my A5, and I'd like to lower my car DIY style. Unfortunately I don't have the space or tools to lower it right now. If anyone has the space and tools and is willing to allow me to use them (compensated or free of charge) or is willing to help me lower the car , please respond.

Located in MD, near Bowie, but willing to travel throughout the area.

    Thank you

Quick question, are you the guy that Rich helped install a RS5 grille?

if so, and if you need help installing a grille, i can't suggest highly enough that you do NOT mess with something as important as suspension. after a few thousand miles maybe you pop a bolt mid corner and kill yourself / someone else. sounds like a bad plan to me.

I'm not. I'm a newer member with previous experience in diy auto work. I just lack the tools and space to do suspension work at the moment and would like either some help or to meet up with a member with some space and the tools necessary to do the install. If I can't, I'll just take it to a shop.

I would just pay Jimmy to do it for you... He is the best and no one can beat his prices.... Hes about to do my sway bars, motor mount inserts and Stage II hardware for me and the price is way less than a shop.. You can trust him with your car..

No problem! I'm in no rush. I may be trading my wheels soon, so after I get some 19's, the fun will begin.

How soon did you want these installed? I do have tools and space. But I won't have time until the end of the month. I do work as a master tech in a repair shop but their corporate policy about customer supplied parts are gay.

I'm in no rush at all. By the end of the month, I may be running different wheels, so the timing would be great, and I try not to rush people that help me out, lol

If you guys don't mind me tagging along.. I've done suspensions on Subaru and Nissans... Audi seems to be more involved.

    I would like to help/learn

I'd like to do so at a time in which it's convenient for all who want to be involved. Could be a fun Saturday project, so maybe everyone who wants in could make a post with the best day and we all just figure something out?

Sorry I almost forgot about this thread. My next 3 Saturdays are busy, sorry. I think the only days I'm free for the next few weeks are evenings during the week. PM me what's good for you.

No problem! As I said, we all have jobs and other things to do, and an offer to help is good enough for me. Pm was sent.

Okay, big shout out and thanks to kracas85. Went to him and we got the kit installed per the instructions. For some reason the fronts aren't compressing like the rear, although the fronts are adjusted to be lower. It looks really weird right now and I've heard mixed things about KW HAS and settling, but does anyone know about this?

Funny, Blackbenzz has had the opposite issue with his HAS, he wants the back lower and cant get them to go any lower while the fronts have a ton of room to go lower. Probably wont see it in here, you may want to post in the main section or PM him directly.

Thanks to the people in this thread, we figured out our very simple mistake. The rear on ny car should settle more, but the fronts are kind of holding them up. It's kind of the effect you get when the car is jacked up. I bet if he removed the front helper springs and started playing with adjustment, he'd get a good result. I've seen people with this kit get Slammed.
