    Brake lights won't go off

I've been trying to figure this out.
My brake lights wouldn't go off so I figured it was the switch I grabed two when I was at the salvage yard other day neither make a difference pressed or unpressed only thing that makes them go off is when I unhook the switch from the harness.
I relocated my abs but I did not cut up any of the stock wireing I don't think it's that but I don't know where to look exactly.

I wonder if it could be from my headlights not being on the car...

My wife's B7 had an issue where during the night the brake lights would come on and stay on. Tried a used switch, no luck. Replaced with a new switch and never had a problem since. You probably got a couple switches that are no better than what you already had.

Thanks for the info I read somewhere they had a recall for switches I don't know if that Atrubutes to our cars or not, but I'll go to the dealer tommorow and see if a new switch dose the trick.

    could have smoked your CECM.

It'll make your cars lights do all sorts of weird shit if its damaged in any way. typically though they fail from water damage.

If you disconnect the switch and the lights go out it is the switch. It is a self adjusting switch. A used switch needs to be reset before installing. Get that new switch and be done with it.
