Ok, so i have a 2000 audi a4 the transmission has been semi messed up for over a year now, i would assume if i sold it whole, they would want me to pretty much Give them the car, even tho it has a new turbo, transmission lines, coil packs, water pump timing belt and more all have less than 1k on them. should i just part it out? the car was parked with every gear, was working fine the transmission fluid leaked out while it was parked, when i got the car towed and new fluid put in it and the lines replaced it just stopped working, The transmission has reverse, park, neutral, 1st 2nd, but just wont go into 3rd it will attempt to, then kick hard. so i guess its time to either sell it or part it out.

if i could fix the car and get the transmission working the car would be in good condition other than the driver seat has a small tear not sure what to do.

    Whats your thoughts on it?
    already have another A4

Make more money parting out but you could also just clean it up real good and sell it as a mechanics special.

Sounds like this is causing you some distress. How 'bout I just come get the car. No worries!

And I don't think 10x. I think more like 2x. What happens is you sell a couple things and then you have trouble moving other pieces and/or stuff gets complicated (ie: sold the doors before selling interior, now car is flooded inside. Interior parts are now a pretty hard sell, right?). So you end up with a nice car missing like 15 key things. It's no longer a fixable car, you are sick and tired and just have to scrap the thing. Now if you have lots of time, and a garage bay where you park this thing for a year while you sell things off it, then it might work.

Seriously, though. Just sign the title over to Walky T. and all these problems go away. ;)

    Lol, naaaah

i have plenty of room for it, garage space, tarps, and such, when/if i part it instead of fixing it, im gonna take the radio and the turbo out of it, that way i have a spare turbo on hand and ready to go and i loved the radio set up in this car, so its going into my 99 pre facelift "after some modifications ofc, also the interior in the 99 was trashed because of the previous owner, so i started fixing it, and its gonna look aas good as new when im done, the only difference im adding a cup holder where the rectangle slot is

    Sneak peek :P

the interior in the 2000 a4 doesnt even have a crack in it, it was my choice to not steal the better one for my working car, because then i would have to part it out, the way im doing this, i can sand and paint it back to how it originally was, OR add a cup holder, and switches and such to what i need it to be, Doesnt matter if its pretty, Just if its functional,

The entire pillar was torn off, and they just put tape over it,i replaced the tape with some that releases easily, and built up ontop of that so i could take the pieces off as they should i literally just decided enough was enough now even with it fully replaced and sanded down im not even over $2 in materials lol so this is a super cheap DIY fix lol and that picture was from a few days back, Im taking pictures and documenting everything, i mean the entire console just cracks and breaks so i put a thin coat all the way around it, and sanded it back to smooth it out and fit it, i could even re- add the pleather wrinkles if i wanted it, but what ive done bought a few things to add into it, and modify pieces so its how i want it :D

this is what you think lol. I've parted 2 cars in the last year, mostly because they had a few parts I wanted that were $$$ or hard to find, my 660sq ft garage is jam packed with shit, I had to build a shed to fill with more shit, I've got a mint set of B5S4 seats with white alcantara in my basement. I just can't get rid of this stuff, I've even tried giving it away and people still don't want it, I got lucky and broke even thus far its just I'm missing so much space because of all these excess parts that I can't just throw out because that would be a waste.

    This exactly.

Parting should be your absolute last option.. it is not worth it unless you have really desirable parts.

And even if you do have desirable shit you get left with a shell and a bunch of shit that won't sell. My parts car is like stuck in the garage because I sold the coils and a bunch of stuff off it.
Mine still has a lot left over too could easily fix it but its silver so deserves to be put down.

Gonna have to pay someone to come take it away.

And as far as space goes it kills a lot of room and I have a 5car garage. With overhead storage and a spare room.
Honestly should have left it as a roller but I'm using motor and trans for a build, plus I kept the seats and some other stuff.

Yea i understand that, which is why im thinking of just putting a manual in it and just running it as a secondary, i have had a manual car before, the only issue i had with it was that the clutch wears down so much faster than anything else in it

Clutch lasts longer than tiptragic trans do and is cheaper to replace. If ur going threw clutches that fast either you can't drive or using cheap parts or bad installs.

Are plenty of people on here that still run their stock clutches.

it was a ford, do i have to say more? all of the ford clutches burn up and being gentle with them, not even stalling them and i didnt add cheap parts to the car, ive actually had better luck out of a tiptronic than standards lol
