    GAS Mileage S6

    Coming out of a 2015 S5 cabriolet to the 13 S6.

Given the published data on gas mileage in the S6, I was at least expecting to get near the top end for mileage with highway driving, as I'm not really "getting on it" at that time. I'd say I'm as high as 21 avg hwy. Does this sound consistent with others reports? Or should I get something checked out? I've had the car for a few days now. Published data puts the highway numbers at 27.

Alternatively, the S5 cabriolet was definitely getting near 28mpg on the highway on my commute to work. I average about 34 miles one way without too much slow down traffic. 28 for the S5 is the top of the published data.

As a datapoint, I'm averaging 16.25mpg in 2016 with about 75% city driving in my S6.

Sounds about right in comparison to mine. I don't do much highway. In the below, it was highway (but doing 80+ a lot of the time) as we drove the car from AZ to WA. The other higher MPG's you see were usually the result of some highway trips. I'm usually a bit more 'on it' than not, but not extreme.

    S4Per,
Those are some crazy numbers for fuel economy. I didn't expect these numbers on average, but the car sure is fun to drive, despite the times at the pump. Not sure where they get the number 27HWY.

---Maybe rolling down hill with the car off.

Yeah... It'd be good to see others results here, too. Not sure how the car computer compares to these externally tracked numbers for me. I'm going to pay some attention to that moving forward.

Fuelly.com is great btw. Free to use, nice app on iPhone, I put in details as I wait for the tank to fill.

I haven't had my car very long and it's a 2014 S7. Over 750 miles I've averaged 23.6 mpg actual at ~5800 ft elevation. The trip computer reads about 8% optimistic.

I use the Road Trip app to keep tabs on all my vehicles. They also have a free app to track one vehicle, and for about $5 you can keep track of more than one.

I average 19-22 mpg on my commute, which is 43 miles and ~70% highway. But it's congested highway.

If you have an open, flat highway and set cruise control to 60-70 mph it's not hard to achieve, and even better the 27 mpg. However, this V8 guzzles gas if you're constantly adjusting the throttle (ie. if highway traffic causes you to continually slow down and speed up).

On a normal month, I drive 70 hwy/30 local and I've been averaging between 19-21mpg. I drive with a lead foot unless I'm just cruising. This month, I drove mostly on local roads with a heavier lead foot than usual (I drag race myself from a stop light) and I averaged 15mpg. You only live once so might as well enjoy it! The best way that I've found in figuring out the most accurate mpg figure is to do it the old fashioned way-between fill ups using miles driven divided by gallons.

On long trips I get 25+ if I keep it at around 75. Typically average 21-22 in a mix biased toward in-town driving. Like others, the computer is about 5% optimistic.

I typically get 29mpg to 30mpg on highway averaging 65mph with my GIAC stage one tune. In and around town 21 to 23mpg. I think that's pretty damn good for a V8.

I've tracked every tank since I bought my S6 by recording miles driven at each fill up. Over 16,465 miles, I've averaged 16.7 MPG with roughly 85 highway/ 15 city. I do have a lead foot and thoroughly enjoy my car, so that's probably the problem. My best tank was 19.3 MPG almost all highway, and my worst was 14.5 MPG half city/ half highway. If you get the claimed mileage for this car, you have to be missing out on the fun of this engine!

I usually get around 21-22mpg highway, but my highway driving is also a little spirited from time to time. Once on a long steady trip I was averaging about 26 going a steady 70mph. That was the best I have seen and have never been able to repeat it. APR tune actually increases highway mileage by like 1 mpg.

I say I get 29 / 30 which I do but that is with cruise control on not in sport mode and doing 65-70 on the highway only on the flat roads of the eastern shore. I'm sure if I lived in the mountains or had a lot of hills it would be different situation.

Pretty happy with my MPG. On the 0-10 aggressive scale I am probably a 7.
