Feedback on GMB Timing Parts vs. NTN (OEM)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have an ECS Ultimate Plus timing kit that contains a mix of NTN and GMB timing pats.
The Dampener and Dampener Lever are NTN. But the Tensioner and Idler Rollers are GMB.
I know NTN is an OEM mfr. But GMB is not. It appears to be a lower cost (lower quality?) component set.
Before swapping out both rollers for NTN parts, whats the feedback from anyone who has used GMB?
    Many thanks -

GMB is a Japanese company that is oem for Hyundai and few other car makers. I would not worry about it. It's quality stuff.

I put a KEVLAR gates belt from ECS on one of our RS6's and the thing sheared after 3 days almost blew the engine
zero help from either gates or ECS so that was a waste of time money and doing timing twice on that car

    OEM is king

Are you referring to the blue Gates Racing belt? If so, it's not kevlar. But I have heard of failure issues with those. Glad I went OEM Conti.

The Gates belt sucks for 2.7T, my buddy has it on his S4 and it squeaks like mad. I have used it on Subaru applications and it was fantastic, but for Audi I stick to Conti.
