RNS-E & Dice iPod "NO MAG"

So I turned my car on the other day, and CEL came on. Car seemed to be running fine.
Disconnected the battery for 30 seconds, turned on again, no more CEL, but now it says NO MAG on the display and the RNS-e no longer reads the ipod connection.
Normally I have options to scroll through the CD list, but that is grayed out, and my iPod is not getting the signal from the RNS-e to turn on, so I have no more hot beats.

I've had this setup for about 5 years and this is the first time it has happened. I plugged/unplugged the ipod several times and that didn't do anything. It remains plugged in the car and not moving, so I don't think it has anything to do with the connector to the ipod.

Searching online I couldn't find any real fixes for this. Can anyone shed some light on this?

No mag suggests that the Ipod kit to RNS-E is functional, but the connection between the Ipod and kit is the faulty part, so probably the connector inside the dock. If you have access to VagCom run a diagnostic on the radio.
