    you are referring to the cars? or the things on the trunk area? If trunk im pretty sure those are plate readers. Not sure about your state. but in NY they have those mount to cops cars and unmarked cars to run plates. Also LOL at the plate.

    All the plate readers I've seen were really small and discrete, but maybe they waited long enough around here to get them that they ended up with better technology.

    That being said, I have no idea what they are. Chinese knock-off Google street view car? REALLY old school back-up proximity sensor system? The owner didn't realize that you only need one CB radio, and it belongs INSIDE the car?

    Looks similar to this. But that Pontiac doesn't appear to be a state owned vehicle. So I dunno.....

    This vehicle was parked at the men's workhouse in Plymouth Minnesota.( don't worry I'm not at the workhouse, just needed to stop by to get a signature from a contractor) I've known someone who was walking on a trail at night and apparently the police had facial recognition on her and arrested her for some kind of Warrant. There was some kind of camera in the police car that matched her face to the warrant. And police all over here have those plate readers but they're not usually visible outside the car. I wonder... is it legal for the average Joe to have a Plate Reader?

    there are 3rd party companies checking plates. when it sees a "flagged" plate it will notify the driver and PD of its location
