B8.5 S4, first 1/4 track day, just realized there isn't any good interior mounting options.

Those of you whom mount a go pro or other camera, where do u mount them at on the interior?

I mounted mine in a couple different places, one in the middle of the sunroof, or in the middle of the back glass getting a whole interior shot, or on the passenger side front window (if they let you keep the windows up, many tracks require them to be down for safety purposes). All of these were mounted with a suction cup with various articulating armatures.

Some of the better videos I've watched were interior shots where it appeared the GoPro was suction cup mounted to the bottom of the sunroof. When positioned correctly, you can see the right side of the driver, the dashboard instruments, and clear view under the rear view mirror.

Suction cup under sunroof works great....

Stuck to the windshield is always fine...

...and then all around the outside...

That looks really good +1 for suction cup under sunroof.

P.S: Random question Joe, are you rev matching on your downshifts? Noticed your revs drop and then slowly come up when your braking during a turn and getting into a lower gear.

Yeah, I'm rev matching as much as possible. Still a lot of work to go for a smooth transition. Turn 7 at Road Atlanta is tricky as I still don't know if I should go down to 2nd for some low end power or carry the speed in 3rd instead.

ahh cool. Good stuff. Well what RPM are you in 2nd vs 3rd? Since your on stock tune you won't be making any power after 5700RPM. Might be better to stay in 2nd unless you can't hold the gear throughout the turn. Just my thoughts. Road Atlanta seems like so much fun!!
