So it was a stupid question ....

But since there's absolutely nothing online about this , here what was the issue :

on a 2008 ipod and sirius sat radio working together, I may think one of the connection is the same.

Disconnecting the sirius will make the ipod work, but no sound.

I just remove the sirius from the plastic frame, reconnect the module and throw it in the side hole.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've been pulling my hair out trying to get the ipod dock in my A4 Avant to work. I bought a 2008 that the PO must have removed the sat receiver. I have an old ipod I just want to keep hooked up in the glove box, but when connected I get no sound, even though the radio recognizes it and will change tracks. I've tried switching the CAN BUS controller back to the OE non-sat radio position, and still no luck. I don't want to have to buy a sat receiver just to get the ipod dock functioning. Is there a way to bypass or jumper the Sat harness in the trunk to address this issue?

Will buying a Dension ipod/aux unit that attaches behind the radio work? I've tried one that attaches in the glove box to no avail.

If anyone has any insight into this issue, I'd love to hear it. I'm pretty frustrated at this point.
