S3 MMI and YouTube via iPhone 6 Plus Problem

I've got a frustrating situation and I'm hoping for some guidance or experience from you guys.
My S3 has the 30 pin AMI cable and I recently picked up an apple 30 pin to lightning adaptor from the Apple Store, then a lightning female to lightning male 3ft cable from Amazon to be able to reach the phone on a mag mount in the air vent.

The connection works great and music is clearer than it was via Bluetooth, but when I try to listen to a playlist on YouTube, every time it switches to the next song (or add) the MMI will start playing music that's stored (purchased) on the phone through iTunes.

The YouTube app is still up, and I need to press the 'play' icon before the YouTube music cuts the iTunes music. No big deal to press play, but when I'm listening to rock or new retrowave or whatever and then Allison Krauss and bluegrass comes in (plays the purchases alphabetically), it kind of kills the groove. It never did this when I was just streaming YouTube by Bluetooth, and I'm not seeing settings on my phone or in the MMI to turn off what seems like an auto play. Any ideas?

Thanks ahead of time for the help
