I leased a 2016 S4 over the weekend and questioning how some of the numbers were calculated. See pic below. The salesman said no money down except for 1st month payment ($594.83) + acquisition fee ($795). I used my credit card to pay this which totaled $1395 (it's actually 1399 but for some reason they charged 1395. So, as far as I am concerned the acquisition fee is paid, however the gross cap cost is $51,176.35 which is $1644 above the agreed upon sales price of car ($49,532.35), which was 12% less msrp. This $1644 breaks down to $849 for audicare and $795 for acquisition fee. My questions are:
1. why is the acquisition fee being added to yield the gross cap cost when I already paid with my cc? This raises my monthly by $21. I emailed the finance person and they said I'm not getting charged twice. Really?
2. why is there a cap cost reduction of $1226.30? I never paid additional down. Only the acquisition and 1st monthly. Finance says the Audi $1000 loyalty is part of this and the additional $226.30 must have come from "somewhere". Huh? Why would the Audi loyalty be applied as a cap cost reduction? It's like they're using that to inflate to the total of $2395 due at signing to then subtract out the $1000 loyalty after.
Finally, my offer to the salesman was to include Audicare, meaning at no cost to me, but they've cahrged me for it. I spoke to the salesman and he said they gave me 12% off msrp and somehow justified charging me for AC. I told him that's not what my offer implied. Anyways, finance says "the sales team may have lessened the price of the car to accommodate the $849 that was added back in to cover the Audi Care". So basically, a shell game. I wanted 12% off msrp AND no cost AC.
This comes across as shady and dishonest to me. I challenged some of the numbers during signing, but didn't catch all of the numbers till I got home. I am still following up with dealer.
