B5.5 Which way is your check valve facing?

Working on this car and the check valve on the airbox from the N80 is backwards according to the diagram under the hood.

After googling the engine code, I see that both circled check valves are backwards on my diagram compared to any other diagram on the internet.

& the N80 recently failed.

The car is a B5.5 AWM

Hood is wrong on mine as well, go by Bentley.

If you put it in by the diagram, you would be pressurizing the gas tank.
