    Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to wrap in carbon fiber the interior dashboard, door, gearbox location etc...
I have the aluminium ones and it will definitely look much better with carbon fiber one?

    Thanks

Yes, It is wrapped in 3M (matte) carbon fiber vinyl in my friend's car. I don't personally like it too much. It's a better fit for bimmer 5er. Audi rs6 original panels are much better.

the problem You have is the same as on mine - if You have the aluminium trim, You do not have the chrome borders around each piece (like on the edge of the photo sent by reyu).. the border looks really nice, so I would like to have it, but that means I need to buy a new set (maybe the piano black or something like that) and then wrap it with carbon (as the carbon set is only gloss, and I would like to have it matte)

Keep a watch on eBay, as the OEM carbon trim does come up now and again.

I bought a used set of wood trim and had it wrapped with real carbon at oCarbon and kept my piano black untouched. I don't know if he does matte finish but they probably do. I am very pleased with it but overall it was not cheap.

Do you know what is the price of the carbon set OEM or nice duplicate?

OEM carbon set is roughly $4100. If you are looking for OEM try Alex @ europrice.us

4100$ will keep the aluminium inlays for a long long period...anyway I will try to wrap one of the door inlays I feel they are the easiest inlay to removed and wrapped it with the glossy carbon wrap.

I'm planning a wrap of my trim but not with some hoaky pseudo-carbon fiber. That just never looks real. As you can see in the wrap compared to real deal is miles apart.

As for the job itself, it is only difficult because of the center console. Removing that is a PITA and why I haven't tackled it yet, (new to being a Dad and time is limited). Regardless, the outcome can look as good as an OEM finished piece if done right. Another option would be to hydro-dip.

I've never understood owning an expensive car and then wrapping items to make them look like something they are not. You have a beautiful car. Give it what it deserves. IMHO.

For many of us, the standard wood trim is boring. I have the Walnut which is less than desired if I'm honest. Had I got the fine grain ash, piano black, polished aluminum or Beaufort aluminum, I'd be content in that. I bought used and price was a consideration when looking. Looking at prices of OEM pieces, I don't think spending that kind of cash on something purely cosmetic makes sense. Not for me it doesn't. I'll likely wrap and will post pics. I've done it in other cars with excellent results and the best part is, it's easily removable and protects the finish of the stock pieces.

I just ordered a few sample finishes to see what I like best.

Wrapping with carbon was about 1200 as I recall. Maybe it's less if they don't have to deal with those edge trims.

It takes a while tho so that's why it's better if u can get another set to have done. You could sell whatever u have left after the job is done.

Maybe the OP needs to specify. An overlay of real carbon that is then epoxied in. That is what dennisg is talking about. "Wrapping" is usually thought of as vinyl, which is certainly what I was thinking of when reading the title. Also, the picture from reyu is clearly a vinyl wrap vs the pics from dennisg are real overlays.

Yes I meant real carbon overlay epoxied in. I love it it looks awesom in person. Mine is an rs7 weave. Much nicer than the OEM atlas weave I saw that comes from factory

Yes, there are many various types of weaves for carbon fiber, carbon kevlar etc.

I used to offer full kits back in my early B5S4 days. The kits were made from 100% material and had no backing nor used the OEM pieces to overlay. We actually made molds of every piece and then hand laid each kit before vacuum bag and completion. We did various weaves, colors etc but people were too cheap. I made and sold a few sets at $650 a kit to offset the cost of the mold but it never took off. At the time oCarbon was just starting and Matt was ~$450-550 per kit for his overlays.

Here was a pic of the interior on my B5S4. This was the 4x4 twill weave and at the time, (2005), that weave was only being used in the Pagani Zonda and Bugatti Veyron for production cars. We did a V-pattern down the center of the car if you look closely.

Very nice. Still love the interior of the B5. It has aged well IMO and does not look very dated (can't say the same for the exterior). I actually like the symmetry. While the C7 interior is certainly very upscale overall, I still wished they had kept it symmetrical.
