Magnaflow 10416 in Q5 3.0T

Has anyone considered doing these mufflers in their 3.0T?

My 3.0T is too quiet and sounds like an electric car with my Roc-Euro.
Needs some grunt, but not AWE's $3000 grunt!
I'm considering having some new mufflers installed. Anyone with a 3.0T have any luck? Or just delete Pre-mufflers?

All I did was the AWE non-resonated down-pipes. They're a half-inch larger in diameter, but the rest of the exhaust is stock. It is very quiet until it's not. Then, it's very loud. This is the contrast I was after with the stock valves.

Would this be relatively similar with the Q5 vs the SQ5? Sound-wise.

I don't think so. The regular Q5 doesn't have the valved exhaust.

Just booked an appt to delete mufflers. We'll see how that sounds.

My buddy has the same magnaflow muffler and I can say that it has a deepish tone.

Yeah sure thing.

Will try and do a sound clip tonight.

$200 install and fabrication

Parts are roughly $400.

I couldn't be happier with the sound level.
Not obnoxious , but feels and sounds like a sports car.

Only other performance mod is Roc-Euro.

Just some engine revving.
I'll try and do an in car clip later.
The sound is really much deeper than the clip shows.

Yes sound clip please! The install looks great. I anticipate to do the same thing, except use and X-pipe in lieu of the center muffler you used.

I used high temp engine paint. Cheap and SUPER easy. Didn't need to sand or anything. Just several coats. Sprayed the cans too.

Good choice this is what I had in mind for my q5 as well except I may only do the mufflers .I love Magnaflow they made such good products and no overpriced like so many out there. How loud is it inside?

If i do the same modification, but i conserve the 2 catalytic on the downpipe, it's bad ?

Because for law, it's not recommanded to remove the catalytic (for ecology....)

Hi,

I dont find it any louder than the AWE I had on my 2.0T Avant.

Nice little rumble, definitely louder with the windows down.

Some drone, but again not any worse than what I had on my 2.0T with the AWE.

I was out the door for less than $500, so I'll take it.

My suggestion is to swap out the rear mufflers and leave the rest. See how it sounds, if you need more then do more, otherwise leave as is.

Muffler Shop hourly rates are quite reasonable. My whole custom exhaust work was $200, I supplied the mufflers.
