Question Oxygen Sensor P2234 - 004 - Signal Shorted to Heater Circuit - MIL ON

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys!

Is it safe to assume that the cable is broken (as a result the short circuit) and a front driver side sensor is required?
Are the front and rear sensors the same? As I have two spare rear sensors at home.

I would clear it and see if it returns since it's only shown up once. Then replace both front sensors if it shows up again. Go with OE on the O2 sensors, myself and others have had problems with Bosch and Denso sensors.

Cleared 3 times and got it back after 10-20km.
I'm guessing the cable insulation is damaged a bit and at some point the wires simply touch and trigger a short.

I thought OE sensors were from Bosch? (That was the case on my older Audi's)
Thanks for the tip on the OE, time to see how far my bond with the Audi dealer reaches in favor of discounts.

Bosch is supposedly the OEM, but people have had problems with the Bosch branded sensors for some reason.

The dealer usually has a lot of room to work with on their parts prices. Just for example, I can get an Audi front O2 sensor for $162 + shipping from a dealer here in the US. MSRP is $242.

Part number is 1K0998262AA in case you were wondering. Good luck.

I've had good luck with the Bosch and Denso's. Swapped my OEM when I was getting a dtc. Been 1 1/2 years now. For the price, it was worth trying. All from rock auto

I use BOSCH 17363 for both my front sensors and haven't had any issues. The only difference with the OEM sensors is the cable length.

So I did some late night research and have concluded with the following:

    The OEM sensors have changed:
    New number: 1K0998262AA
    Old numbers (from ETKA): 079 906 262 B (6 poles - black) & 079 906 262 A (6 poles - brown)

I get the OEM sensors from the STEALER for 200€/piece (~225$)
I get the BOSCH at a local shop with 2 year warranty for 90€/piece (~100$)

    Apparently BOSCH (US) 17363 = BOSCH (EU) 0 258 007 363
Can somebody confirm that the specs below match with BOSCH 17363? Catalog URL
Edit: In the catalog there is a secondary usage number LS 7363 (looks fairly similar to the US item number)

Specs and image for BOSCH (EU) 0 258 007 363:
    Sensor length [mm]: 1720
    Number of poles (wires): 5
    Recommended replacement interval [km]: 250000
