Fuel economy vs tiers

I recently changed my tires from the all-weather Pirelli cinturato p7 to Pilot super sports (for my '14 S5) and noticed my millage dropped noticeably, I was getting 30+ easily on the highway but now dropped to like 26.xx

is this normal?

Assuming you mean tires . Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised about that. I don't know much about the Cinturato, but from the specs, it's a low rolling resistance tire. 15% reduction from the prior all season plus generation. The PSS is a sticky max performance tire and therefore will have a higher rolling resistance.

Please be happy with those MPG you're pulling down. I do have aftermarket 10.5 wheels with Hankook Ventus Evo 2's in 275/30/20 and the most I ever average is 20-23mpg.
