Question 03 A4 Avant Sunroof Drain Leak Question!!!!!?????

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys. SO, Ive narrowed my Avant's moisture and leaking problems to the Right Rear sunroof drain of the vehicle. It is leaking right down behind my amplifier and pooling in the spare tire compartment in the bottom. I opened my sunroof and poured water in each of the ducts to drain water from the sunroof tray up top. Is there any way to plug that sunroof drain? Or any ideas to shunt water away from that drain and to others? Any and all words are appreciated. Just want an idea of a quick fix before the dealership fix.

Stick one of those compressible ear plugs into that drain hole as a temporary fix.

Even with a flashlight i cannot find the exact hose in the sunroof, just the general direction of where the water goes. Nor do I know exactly where the water is leaking from the drain. I wish i could pinpoint dryrottage vs a clog. All I know is it drains right over and ontop of my amp.

Ran into a similar issue on my b5 several years ago, ended up that the hose had popped off from the drain nipple. I was able to initially determine that it was disconnected by using some speedometer cable and snaking it through the drain on the sunroof, then I could hear it smacking around behind the pillar, obviously not inside the drain tube itself. I know my thread below is referencing the B pillar, but check out post #10 for pics of the unplugged drain, that could very likely be the cause of your leak.
