Where did you read that? All of the articles I've seen are at 66,400 euros...which is approx. $75K.

    Here's an example: http://www.gizmag.com/audi-tt-rs-cou...ertible/42992/

    2018 TTRS - Suzuka Grey (Sold )

That's more than an M4 and way more than a M2. This car gotta be really fast around the track to command this price...I guess the new RS5 will be just shy of 100K.

Well, let's see what the final US pricing actually is. The reason I say that is in the UK, for example, the estimated TTRS price is still cheaper than the M4. And wasn't the M4 released in Europe in the mid 70k euro range (edit, just checked, it's 73k euro on the German website...that's nearly $83K. In the US it's only $65K. Can't imagine Audi wouldn't try to be competitive with the TTRS in the US)?

Also, I've been following this thread, since the TT forum here is somewhat dead:

That $66K euro cost includes significant taxes that we don't see in the states. As always, you just can't do a straight conversion to come up with the price

I'd wager the TTRS base price will be somewhere between $62-67K

If history is any indication, the RS is typically about $10K above the S in this level of category. So expect it to be in the neighborhood of $62K USD.

It is what it is, and yes I've been in several dual clutch setups including PDK etc. Not a fan, I prefer the 3 pedals.

The last TTRS beat a 1M in most scenarios including lap times. That was a Euro Spec TTRS with 335hp and DSG. This one should be considerably faster with the estimated 400hp. Audi has stated that the new TTRS will be able to do power slides, much like the R8. It will have reduced weight up front and will be able to become rear wheel biased. I found the last TTRS very formidable. The thing that impresses me most about Audi's is that on the road the performance that can be extracted safely exceeds that of the BMW M-cars. I love M-cars, but they are just a different beast. I think too many people get caught up in what magazine editors write, and in my opinion, most magazine editors are way out of touch from the average consumer. The vast majority of people are not buying a track car and the vast majority of people (even those who track a car) have no clue on how to drive a track car. Audi gets ripped on a lot but time and time again, most car companies are playing catchup with Audi when it comes to interiors. I think on the TT, Audi has hit it out of park on this one. Secondly, for a car that will primarily be driven on the street, the Audi S and RS models are a very compelling option.

Perfectly said! I hate when they review a car and start raving about how it slides sideways. Yes, it is fun, very exciting, but as much daunting even in light rainy days. I had an '07 M Coupe, excellent car, but had to be really careful on slightly damp roads. Drove my frind's M4 several times - it's even worse.

The upcoming TTRS will be an exceptional car: wonderful chassis, one of the best engines ever built, fantastic transmission, beautiful inside out, great performance, a true baby supercar. Can't wait...

The latest estimate is that orders for Europe will be opened up by August of this year. We may not get orders opened up until March of next year at the latest. Right now, the word is that the US will get to order in 2017 for a 2018 MY. That could change.

    German TTRS brochure:

    http://www.audi.ch/dam/nemo/ch/model...09_deutsch.pdf

Biggest takeaway is you can see the available wheels and colors. I think I would be able to live with the #6 set in the back right until I can my own custom shoes on.

I just talked to my dealer last week and test drove a TT S as a preview. Great car but not a fan of the 4-Cyl and the 6-spd DCT. The RS will have the the 7-speed DCT similar to the S5 I drive and love.

The ordering will start next year with some cars delivered in later 2017. There will be limited in quantity and most likely will have a markup by most dealers, at least in Northern CA were demand will greatly exceed the supply. The starting price is going to be a nudge over $70,000. with a few options it will reach $80,000. That is without the markup.

I am sure it will be great, unique and faster than anything at that price on a straight line but I think I will pick a Cayman 718 or a fully loaded M4 at that price. It's a bit over priced IMO.

Cars will start to be delivered during the summer of 2017. The starting price will not be a nudge over $70K, but probably around the $65K mark. You can't take Euro or UK prices and translate them into US dollars. It doesn't work that way. The S is usually about $10K to $12K more than the A model in this portion of the Audi range. The RS is usually about $12K to $15K more than the S model. Which means that this should land somewhere near $65K.

A fully loaded M4 will land you in the $93K range. A Cayman 718 will be in the $65K to $70K range, but the car will be slower and will have a 4-cylinder. It will definitely be a more engaging drive, but for a daily driver and a car that will really shine at 9/10th's the TTRS is hard to beat.

I'm looking forward the new TT RS. In regards to pricing, it would be a hard sell to pay even close to $80K for TT RS, which I don't think will be the case. The TT RS may be fast but at $80K, most people would opt for the Porsche. JMHO. I'm thinking more like $70K for an average equipped TT RS. It's always fun to speculate.
