    Sensen shocks for 2004 A6 Quattro 3.0

Needed cheap replacement shocks for above car (lady is on a budget).
Ordered the Sensen 3212-0181 for the rear, and 3213-0238 for the front.

Obviously, the existing spring will be reused.
But the parts are just a shock itself. Are mounts, spring seats, etc. to be removed from old struts and transferred over. Or in other words: can the old shock cartridges themselves be removed and replaced?

I don't want to bring the car in and take the stuts out just to find out that what I have (Sensen shokcs) will not work and more/additional/other parts are needed.

I worry about that once/if they are installed.
But likely last longer than the POS Germany made 3.0 (worst Audi engine EVER) that is in that ladies car; and the glories ZF 5HP19FLA will likely also crap out before that.

I'd recommend replacing the shock mount as well, it made the biggest difference on mine which were dried out and rotted.

Although on mine at least the shock mount costs more than the shock itself.

Back to the original question on hand: can the old SHOCK be just replaced with the new naked Sensen (don't even have the spring mount, which ALSO needs to be transferred).
    a) nakes shock
    b) shock with spring mounts
    c) complete strut

Has someone done a 'naked shock' change using/transferring the other parts over?
Has someone done Sensen shocks on the C5 chassis?
