2011 S4 tapping

Hi all new member alert.
Been reading a few of your posts on here and been looking for info on the HPFP.
Does anyone have issues with pump noise on their 3.0T engines?
Mine has quite a loud tap and has done less than 20K miles.
I returned the car to Audi who suggested I compare it to another one, except I don't know anyone who has one
I have done a short video highlighting the noise and wondered what your thoughts were.
The car is under warranty and I have only recently bought it.

That doesn't sound normal. The injectors will making a clicking sound when the engine is running, but not sure what is causing your sound. Also, the AUDI dealership recommended you compare it to another???? First, they should know, second, your at the dealership, just startup one of the other S4's on the lot.

They don't have any other S4s there unfortunately, neither have they worked on any.
They are quite rare over here
They are only up the road from me, I'll see if they have any other cars with the same motor.

Sounds louder than normal.
I'm shocked at the response you got from the dealership. They surely must have worked on other 3.0t's?! That motor is in several models.

Ok so I have just listened to an S5 with the same engine as mine.
From cold there is a tapping the same as mine when listening with a screwdriver to the ear on the fuel line coming from the pump.
But after about 20 secs and after the revs die down the noise disappears and you can only hear the injectors ticking.
So does anyone know how the fuel system alters after a cold start as this does seem to be related to my tapping? Thanks

Well I finally managed to get the car in to Audi and am getting it back later today.
They replaced a pipe of some sort, they were a bit vague on the phone. Will post back later once I know more.
