I suppose this must be slave cylinder season lol
I posted this on the B5 A4 section but very little respond(little traffic). I believe you guys are the more hardcore DIY so best to post it here.
Just a copy and paste of my post :-
So engine was pulled out and stupid me, I pushed the rod in causing the slave cylinder to to leak. As I don't have the part in hand I just left a bucket under the bellhousing to catch the fluid..Reservoir was almost ran dry.
I got the new mahle Slave cylinder from ecs tuning 2 weeks later and installed. I pressure bled it (only 10psi) and cracked the reservoir. I got a new reservoir and filled it up and tried bleeding it again only to realise the car is still on ramps(duh) and not levelled so no way it's gonna bleed.
Now my motor is 80% complete, I decided to remove the ramps and bleed the slave..I even raised the back which apparently helps bleeding to some. I pressure bled it up to 20psi and nothing comes out. I followed the JHM procedure , no go. Removed the slave again and couldn't find anything amiss. When I pressed the rod in, there's very little fluid coming out. zero resistance with the clutch pedal.
I've disconnected the hardline to the slave and vacuum bled it, very very little fluid came out. I even pressure bled it + vacuum and same result. I reversed bled it too and did nothing.
I dont remember jacking the transmission so high causing the lines to crush. Master cylinder shagged? but wouldnt fluid still pass through if its shagged?
