Alright guys so i was looking for a DV and i found this thing in the b5 forums, I've found some information on it and its called the Hyperboost by a no longer existing company named Stratmosphere.

Also the only posts i can find about these things are in 2000-2004ish and apparently back in the day everybody in the vw/audi community thought loudness was the defining factor of how good DVs were.

I just wanted to find out if any of you guys are running these/can inform me a little bit about this thing..

You found a little piece of treasure there. Nice quality DV, strat made good products while they were in business, they just tried to grow too fast, made some less than optimal money management decisions and ended up closing their doors in 2010ish

sorry, should of been a little more specific. I just wanted to know if they are quality pieces and also if they are adjustable at all through springs or anything like that.

I ran one of those years ago in a 300hp Saab 900. Haven't seen one in years! I would do some tests on it given its age before you install it. Was a great DV in my application, but that part is 13 years old, I would definitely make sure it operates properly and doesn't leak.

That DV is a very good design, and like most, can be tuned using different springs and spring preload. The effect of a stiffer or lighter tension spring is different compared to spring preload.

it apprears in amazing condition for its age, tested it with my finger and it holds pressure. now that im thinking about it i read somewhere that it was adjustable but i really dont know how you would open/adjust this thing...

This is the same DV I run, and its a great piece. To adjust and service it, unscrew the top - its threaded on. Lube the spring, add any shims or swap out the springs if you desire.

Its has a good noise to it.

Thinking about it, a lot of my mods have gone the way of the dinosaur. Ecode FMIC, Jeff Lee testpipe, Hyperboost DV, and although its not currently installed I have an OC.T. tip in the garage.

cool, this is great to know. i will definitely be installing that as soon as possible. Also on a side note i wanted to ask what you guys use to lube your DVs?

Mobil synthetic grease is what I've used.

So i installed my DV today and wow what can i say. I love it. First off the response is instant, it literally feels like as soon as my foot is off the throttle im at vacuum. Not like my last one which has an incredibly slow response, so slow that it would noticibly jerk the car. Noise is not as loud as i imagined but it is nice sounding. Now to try to somehow find different springs for this thing...
