Carfax, what do you think is up here?

Talking to a Audi dealer on a CPO 2013 S6

They are saying the in-service date is 9/12, which is not abnormal for a 13 S6. But check out the car fax, looks to me like it was not purchased until 10/13. Sat at a dealership for over a year with just 300 miles put on it. Seems kind of odd... wonder what the situation was. What are your guesses? This does matter as it would be a mean a year difference on the warranty

I wonder if it stayed in the possession of the DFW Audi dealership, meaning that they are the ones that finally registered it. It may have been a loaner car. If it was them that first registered it that starting mileage may not be correct. Just guessing. I'd call DFW Audi. They should have that service history at least and tell you what was up with those services.

    .

To me, it looks like the first dealership sold the car to the second dealership for either the dealership's own use or an employee's. That's why it was registered as a corporate fleet vehicle. For in service date/warranty purposes, this would be different than if the second dealership purchased the car from the first for the purpose of resale to a customer. This is why the in service date is in fact sometime in 9/12. But rather than playing the guessing game, why not just call any Audi dealer or AoA with the VIN? They can tell you the exact in service date.

Warranty should start when it is sold, not built.
Probably demo car or showroom car. Is it some weird color or option combo that people don't want?

Will call DFW Audi next week. I am an out of state buyer and the sales person I am randomly hooked up with is either not s great communicator or for some reason does not want to get into the details on the history, It can be hard to pin them down when your not face to face.
