Do the Bilstein Pro Kit, which includes matched shocks. Your factory shocks will fail within 10-20k miles if you just do the springs, and you'll have to pay for labor twice... you may we well spend the extra up front and have it done right.

I ran just the springs on my previous car (and traded it in when the shocks started to go), and it definitely yields a nice-looking ride height. In terms of driveability it was too low for my personal tastes, but I have an extremely low tolerance for inconvenience with my DD.

Are you on standard or sport suspension? IMO if you're on sport, the stock shock work quite well as long as you're car has relatively low miles. If you're on standard suspension, the ride will be bouncy on the stock shocks even if they're new.

I'm on standard suspension, I'm thinking either go with Koni sport shock and Eibach pro kit spring.

any reason you are going with the konis? i believe that with the b12 kit, the springs and shocks are set up to match each other specifically (although this could be marketing garbage, but bilstein says, "BILSTEIN damper and EIBACH Pro-Kit performance spring road-tested and fine-tuned to perfectly complement each other"). I think if you buy separately, you dont have that customization. Just some food for thought..

Tks! I appreciate the info, price wise Koni is cheaper than Bilstein? but I don't mind to go more expensive route as long as the ride won't be too bumpy.

FYI, I've got the bilstein B12 kit coming for my '12 Avant and I paid $585 shipped. I don't think you'll get the koni's & eibachs for less.
    Thanks,\

What Ed said...I got the same deal from the same supplier....

If you want to price compare you can check ecs to see the difference (I think they have both koni and bilstein "kits" on their site) and then search for deals.

For reference, the bilstein b12 pro kit for avants is part # bil46-183354

I can vouch for the Bilstein ProKit, that's what I'm currently running and love it. Car handles a lot better overall and the ride is still smooth and comfortable, even with 19's on.

Tell the installer to trim the bumpstops accordingly. If you don't, your car will ride like shit.

trim 1.2" from the rear and put the trim in the front...4ringnut has the details posted on one of the other Bilstein threads...
