only the BEA is wideband that's 2003+
any amu is not wideband , but wideband swap is easy. takes about an hour with a swap harness and a properly tuned ECU

don't bother looking for a BEA ECU to swap a amu either. the BEA uses a EGT sensor like the RS6 (I believe it is a wideband EGT also) so the EGT will need to be coded out anyway.
    MK4 ECU works fine

    Better tuning ability.
Have Wideband ECU and plug here for conversion of the TT (but need another identical setup for a 2000 A4)

You'll also need a wideband O2 sensor in Bank 1 (Pre-cat). 5 Pin vs. 4 Pin if I remember correctly. That's the purpose of the conversion harness.
