    Power seat not working

    Hi,

My B6 A4 has been sitting for a few weeks unused, upon start up I noticed that the driver side power seat doesn't work, none of the controls work. On the passenger side, everything works as it should.

I looked on the fuse diagram and I can't figure out which one it is, could there be a separate fuse for power seats elsewhere than in the main fuse box?

    Thanks guys.

    Bump!

I checked the fuses under the steering column, they all look ok... what could possibly get all adjustment functions on the driver's side to give up at once, besides the fuse? I also replaced the CCM that had been damaged by water, is the CCM involved in power seat operation? I looked the best I could at the plugs under the seat and they look fine, though I have too little clearance to unplug them to check for corrosion.

Any ideas? This is very annoying!

Had the same issue happen to me a few years back. I was told the whole control unit needed to be replaced since it is one piece that powers everything.

But before I was able to do that, I ended up sourcing some Alcantara seats for cheap and went that route instead.

Yes, looks like there is no other solution than to pull the seat up and see what's up underneath. I can imagine removing the seat without the motors working will be a serious PIA...

If I recall correctly , you don't have to take the seat apart or even remove it as the power unit is right where the switch is.

I have a similar problem my passenger power seat doesn't work. I have tested all the motors they work and the control unit does too because I tried a different seat. I read a thread on audiworld I think, that there should be a "computer" somewhere under the seat that sometimes goes bad.. I didn't find one under my carpet. does anyone know where to find this, or if there is a seperate one for both seats because the driver seat works normal?

I can't find anything that resembles a computer under there either...

Any idea if the comfort control unit has anything to do with power seat operation?

Did you try swaping fuses from your working driver side seat to the passenger side? I can't tell where the passenger side fuse is, I would have attempted this myself.

The comfort control module has nothing to do with the power seats. There are a couple of aluminum cased circuit breakers under the drivers side dash, that power the electric seats. Sometimes the circuit breakers fail. The CB on the left is for the driver's seat. If the CB is open or OFF, there will not be any voltage on one side of the CB measured from the power supply circuit to chassis ground.
