    Got a B6 S4 and this P0011 code came on. Wondering if anyone had experience with it?

    P0011 = A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)

    Same code with mine... Most likely a warn cam adjuster. Common problem on older b6s

    Causes:
    A P0011 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:
    Incorrect camshaft timing
    Wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake
    timing control valve control solenoid system
    Continuous oil flow to VCT piston chamber
    Failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)

    first..check to make sure you dont have oil flow issues. If im not mistaken, this code is common among the adjusters being worn out or failing. They rely on oil pressure.

    this video shows for the other bank, but its basically the same

    Now im not saying that this is exactly what is going on there.... but its a good start. Do you have VCDS? Have you done a full scan and not just the generic scan?

    Yes get vcds ASAP and go into the engine module and then select measuring blocks and type in 091 enter 092 enter 093 enter and report back these values more specifically the cam phase degrees in the measuring block 093.

    Thanks guys, I took it to JHM. They told me the bank 1 adjusters are failing. I'll need a Full timing job. Anybody know of other creative fixes?

    Sorry to hear about the issue, OP. Unfortunately the only fix for a failed adjuster is to replace it.

    can you elaborate on what to look for in those measuring blocks? I wish someone would've chimed in to help me understand them when I posted screenshots of those blocks and specifically asked if they could be used to diagnose timing issues...

    Anyone in the Northern Colorado area experienced with this code and know how to fix it? I want to fix mine without blowing 10k at the dealer when someone experienced could help me do it for a 10th of that price

    I do remember seeing a DYI write up on this a while ago. They didn't have to pull the motor or anything. It was a tight squeeze but he got it done from the top.
