e85 in boston

Hey all.

I have a flex fuel Allroad and I've been searching for a station around the area that sells quality E85. The Irving in Chelsea used to have a sign that said Min E70 until I complained to them that my logs showed 58% at best. Now they have a sign that says E85 (min 51%). Stay away from this place

Oddly enough The magazine beach shell started selling E85 again and it's potent. My logs confirm it and I used a test kit as well. If I had added enough water to the test tube it would show about 79-80% ethanol. That's actually incredibly pure.

So all you tuned flex fuel Bostonians.... Have at it! Enjoy some serious torque

Yeah I go to the Magazine Shell too. Car runs great on their E85. My only gripe is sometimes they have random hours and will close whenever they want.

Gulf on the Mass Pike just west of 495 in Westboro

Last time I was there it had a "no more e85" sign... Can someone confirm if they still do have it? Its the closest pump to me.. Thanks

I believe the Gulf station in Canton (off Rt 24) offers the E85... have not had a chance to get by to confirm. Station is across from Target and Fridays...

i get e85 from magazine beach shell frequently.
there is also a gulf station by the airport that sells e85.

I went there a week ago today and filled up my car and a bunch of gas cans. I live in the Augusta, Maine area and we don't have any E85 anywhere in the state. Same with NH and VT. It sucks. Soooo, I'll be making periodic trips to this Shell station to stock up on E85.....

Careful. If they catch you loading gas cans with it you can get in trouble apparently. Was told loading E85 into anything but your vehicle is illegal in mass

Really? I was told at the Irving in Chelsea that it was against company policy but not illegal. I'll have to see if I can find anything about this. Thanks for the heads up.

EDIT: Can't find any laws on the books at Mass.gov that says it's illegal.
