Are my S-Line shocks bad or not?

I bought used S-Line suspension off a member here. He mentioned that they were used 70k miles. I compressed them with my hand but they dont come back up. According to this video good shocks should come back up:

Do you think they are bad or not?

Sound dead to me. Put your can on them and what do you think they are going to do? Definitely not going to come back up haha.

The seals must have went bad as they are gas filled. Not worth blown struts on car

Anyone here actually tried compressing their sports suspension by hand? Does it rebound back by itself?

I've been searching online and some do not even when they are new. Dunno if these are designed that way as well?

I was thinking the same ain't s line sport suspension red strut? When I changed my it was red. I think that strut is came out of s line appearance model not a true s line.

These are red as well.

70k miles is still 30k miles less than my current non-sport ones... and I didn't want to spend too much.

So are they supposed to rebound by themselves or not?

My old non s line shocks and struts was fully extended when removed. It could be compressed down by hand

Would it bounce back up by itself after you compressed?

Yes. New shocks might still go slowly up may take like a minute or so but if it stays in place or barely goes up it's dead.

Not to hijack but my 06 non sline shocks are red. Aren't they all ?

I didn't watch your video but my red sports pkg shocks rebound VERY slowly. They are probably on there way out. Rides fine in comparison to my B6 on STs.

No no no. I have an S Line Titanium. 3 struts were red the other one was black. The black one had the exact same part number as the red ones did. I assume the black one was a replacement of a red one but the part number was the same.

Don't go by color, go by part number.
