    2006 C6 A6 Quattro Avant 3.2 - door handle parts

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Door front right (passenger) door was rattling.
Codes found in module 52 (passenger door):
02124 - Exterior Door Handle Switch
    008 - Implausible Signal
02123 - Door Warning Light / Entry Light
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit

The 2 loose switches pulled out.
    IMG_2859.jpg

One appears to be door handle. Is that an integral part of the door handle, and I need to order and install complete unit?
    4f0837886.jpgC6 A6 door handle with switch.jpg

The other I have not idea. Have anything to do with the 02123 door warning light entry light code?

I actually have the entire door wiring harness for the front right. It's non bose(had two plugs instead of 4). I even have all the door hardware, etc.

the 'red' connector broke off, keeping part of the mating piece withit--the dark grey piece still in the red connector shows witness marks of the fracture. so, have you found the matching witness marks of the other broken end?

I have to check (or maybe obvious from the 2 parts shown) if mine is bose or non bose. Are the effected parts different? Also still trying to find links for DIY to get the effected parts (door handle, regulator?) out; only have door card off so far.

Both red and black broke off. The red apparently is part of the door handle frame/unit?
Need both parts, and instructions how to replace them.

Anyone have good DIY write ups, links, video?

Correction, bose /non bose is not what I should have asked. Does your Avant have the advanced key option? Because the harness I have came off an Avant that didn't have that option. Also, removal of the regulator is pretty easy. It's just held in by 3 screws and it pops off once they are removed. The door handle on the other hand, is a straight up pita to remove.

    Car is Bose.
The 2 plugs that broke off are off the door handle; I have not been able to identify the red one (2 wire plug/connector).
I have the big torx screws removed, regulator is moving a bit on front side, but won't budge at all for the rest.

Did you remove the foam insulation on the door?

It does if you plan on removing the entire window. In regards to the regulator, I believe this is it:

If so, it should pop right out of after removing the 3 or so screws.

Now removed all the way (found another torx holding the rear regulator rail at the bottom).

Still, regulator/window frame does NOT come out. Motor IS removed and pins pushed in. Front moves a bit, rear does NOT move at all.

Can't believe there is no video or DIY out there (and ashamed to admit that even I don't have one listed on our website; only for the REAR window!!!!).

First car ever that i cannot get the regulator out (or find decent support/instructions to get it out).

What does Bentley say (actually PAID for and HAVE Bentley, but never got it to work on Win7 computer, and they sell but don't support their product anymore).

To remove the door window frame, YOU WILL need to remove that foam insulation entirely because there are several screws/bolts which hold the frame that are covered by said insulation. Also, the piece thats part of the window frame(which the regulator motor hooks into) has to be pushed up and down as it is being held in by a plastic hook type thing.

Will try another go-around to find more missing bolts, but don't think so.
Photo that shows all bolts for the regulator removal? The schematic does not reveal much (thanks Greg for sending the Bentley body doc):

I only found 2 screws under the foam. Can someone show the locations (photo) of screws to be removed to get the regulator out?

Regulator base frame: do you mean the 3 legs have to be pushed through the sheetmetal (by pressing the side tabs in)? That is done already.

I think you'll have to remove the entire window with the window track to remove the regulator. It's attached via cables to the rest of it and I think it would be a massive PITA to try to remove it with all the metal around it. I tore the front right door completely to the bare bone back in November and I remember it being not that easy.

Yes, the entire frame with regulator comes out. But the rear does NOT budge. Need to know location of all screws that hold frame/regulator in place. I can't find another one.
Unless the 2 triple square from the front/edge (holding the door lock) need to be removed as well.

Have NOT found the 'rest' (broken off part) of the red/black connector/plug (must be somewhere on the door). Handle is out, does NOT look like it connects to the handle. Maybe to the lock? Else? Do I need to take the lock also out to determine where the red connector goes to (and to determine if it can be repaired, or needs if the part needs also be replaced)?

After removing the handle base, i found the 2 pins where the end of the red connector belongs. I will take a photo. Note: as it turns out, the base and connectors are different for cars with 'keyless entry' feature. Since I bought a base from a non keyless, I had to transfer parts over; and had to reuse the outside handle part itself (since it contains the 'keyless' part and the red connector).
