Before I get flamed to hell and back I have searched through many forums and gathered lots of information on the efc I intend to do. I just am having trouble finding what the cfm of the stock clutch viscous fan. I've only found a poor selection of universal fans where I live, and the only 14" I found is 3 5/8" deep and only moves 1250cfm. Would this be adequate or should I just order one online. I am willing to do some trimming if required. So if someone could provide me stock cfm that would be awesome.

Adequate for what's? Trimming what / where? You don't mention what car this is for, not enough detail.

I probably run the same fan as you. It's 3+ years old and still works. Never had a problem with it *knock on wood*.

Cool, gonna compair some prices, I just wasn't sure that 1200 cfm was enough which is why I was trying to figure out the clutch fans cfm rating.

Also I'd be willing to do the trimming for a 16" with 1600 cfm if that's gonna be more than the stock will move so it has to run less time to achieve the same cooling effect if it's of any more benefit than the 14" with 1200.

Assuming the stock moves about 1000 cfm either would be better (correct me if I'm wrong on this).

I hate reviving my old threads, did you use the wiring kit and sensor from a1 electric? I'm just wondering as it looks like it would have to be threaded into a line but I have no idea where I could thread it in or if I should get a different sensor? I'd like to order it ASAP, I think clutch fan gonna fail soon based on the noises it's making lol. Thanks again.

I only run the stock electric fan. Took off the fan clutch. Temp never moves, even on track day.

I'd still feel better with a second fan, and with the kits on there they all say the temp probe/thermostat is the screw in type, wondering where/how you installed it?

You could go with a stainless steel bridge in the upper hose, with a threaded boss to accept the screw-in thermo switch.

I like the idea but wouldn't it have to be in the lower rad hose as upper feeds the rad so will always be at high temp meaning fan would always be on?

You wouldn't happen to know the diameter of the upper and lower rad hoses would you, I've found some bridges with ports for these just wanna get the right size.
