    engine mount failed, 13 S6

Started to hear a light tapping noise from front, was initially worried that one of the bolts on the eurocode sway endlinks sheared off since they have so little play for a car on rough city roads. Going to shift s3ctor this weekend so I needed a solid tech inspection on the car. My friend who is a tech at audi was about to give it a clean bill of health, but probed deeper and found one of the engine mounts burst, lost all it's fluid and had too much play.

My dealer hasn't seen many motor mount problems on the 4.0t, so no one panic. Next time your in for service just have them checked out. :)

I actually just had my motor mount replaced. There was a vibration throughout the cabin during idle. They found it was a bad mount and replaced it.

Mine failed as well. Per Audi, they replaced both (discovered during my 35k service).

Just took my car in for service, oil change, recall etc. I told them I noticed a vibration at idle and a clunk when stopping... they found a bad motor mount and replaced it, I had this happen to me in the past with my old a5, these things just happen.

Interesting, glad I posted. More common at low miles than I expected.

My friend did mention it was an absolute bitch to replace.

What kind of vibration at idle? I feel this, but just assumed it was because I had a V8. :)

I've had previous german cars with failed mounts and you would notice a pretty distinct vibration in the cabin and the shifter (all my previous cars were 6MT). Others reported vibration on the C7, I did not have any and my mount was pretty failed. The cabin is so well insulated it took me muting my stereo to notice over bumps in the road something was clacking together, metal on metal.

I noticed a light but unusual vibration during park and neutral gear. It was much more apparent when the nose of the car was pointed downward. The shop foreman noticed it right away when I brought it in. This was at 45k on my V6..... I'm really starting to get V8 envy right about now
