I have a brand new set of solos on my Allroad. Sits Amazing. But I am looking for something more performance oriented. For $550 new theyre an insane value but just not for me. Have my eye on some H&Rs. The coils are flawless and have been driven on for about 600-700 miles. Looking for $450. Located in Boston. PM me interest and offers

    thanks

    Corbin,

I was in your shoes months ago and went down the H&R path because I too, needed better performance for my track days. Think very carefully though about your decision. How many track days or how often do you drive spiritedly where the cost/sacrifices justifies the means? From my recollection, your DD is worth about 20K miles a year. That's a lot of commuting.

To be perfectly frank with you, I believe the H&Rs are going to be too harsh for a DD car. I am on 19's and am 25 1/4" front, 25 1/2" rear GTF and feel EVERY little imperfection in the road. Don't get me wrong, the performance is great and mildly comfortable with the H&Rs being a linear rated coil, I'm just getting slightly tired of the firmer, "feel everything" ride from them.

Maybe I am just getting old...

Good to know. A friend of mine had H&Rs on his Allroad and said they are super comfy. Half the reason I want other ones is because these are also bouncy. I rode in a friend with STs and it was cushy as hell haha. Sorta liked it. Maybe I should suck it up.... I mean it's on 20 inch wheels with rock hard PSS tires which don't help

I've had the solowerks for more than a year now. IMHO a perfect combo of price+performance+looks. Looking to drop her another 1/2" actually.

I have heard many alternating reviews between the STs and Solowerk coilovers stating that either one or the other was too bouncy/stiff. You mentioned in the post below the STs were pretty cushy. Would you be able to expand on that? Do you think the Solowerks are bouncy because of your wheel/tire setup?

I've had KW's before and Solo-Werks. Now I'm running ST's on my Audi b8 as a dd. They're great, built in Germany by KW.
