Loud Popping Noise Near Dash Windshield

From time to time I'm just driving normally and i hear a loud popping / cracking noise coming from the front of the dash. It sounds like it is from inside the car. Should I be worried, and has anyone else experienced this?

Go through all your buttons on the HVAC to make all the flaps work. I wonder if one of them is bound up and your breaking the little arms trying to move one of them.
