First of all. I can't believe it took me over 10 hrs to complete this 2012 A6 CVT Multitronic Fwd transmission filter and fluid! Not only that but I have saved this last from the list of Coolant Flush and Fill, boost gauge, vagcom mods, upgrades and updates on mmi/navi, and pcv cap, roof spoiler, H&R sports springs. This took the longest WHY?!! Well let me tell you why. 1) I have search and search and can not find any DIY on this year and make CVT. Although I did attempt to go by what is majority available was the generation before cvt. Completely different. 2) only reason it took long was because I kept running and rerunning the car to warm up so the fluid would drain. (just a half quart or less) I continue to uninstall the line filter and still less than a quart. I added more and warmed up the car again and again less than a qt/half . Finally after I have hugged, poked, rubbed around this whole transmission I finally found a fill plug. Again I added some into the fill plug and now got about 2 1/2 quarts all together. NO FREAKING WONDER. Sucker was bout dried up. I did a little new fluid flush deal just to see if the case was transmission fluid was low. Conclusion, I filled new cvt fluids with about 4 qts and made sure I used vag and temp and drained over fill til dripping. Results, great 1st gear response and smooth for the most part on the rest of the 7 gears. Do Not Worry. I am planning on doing a DIY on 4g CVT Multitronic Transmission. Just because I have extra set of fluid and would like to do a 2x process. Bought the car at 68k and now at 79k so way passed over due for transmission and hated the jerk jerk on all 8 speed. Stay tune fellers..
