    Cleaning/conditioning S4 seats

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just purchased some B6 S4 seats and they are in need of full cleaning. I am also aware that I will have to swap over a passenger side bladder. Anyway.. I came across a post last week where someone used a leather cleaner on their silver seats and had pictures of them wrapped in plastic bags in order to bake them in. For the life of me I cannot find this post. The seats were silver in the post. My seats are black and they are showing little age. So far Leatherique products seem to be on top of my list.

Any help finding this post would be appreciated or any suggestion to condition these seats would be welcomed

I got a dirty set of Recaros last year in Platinum. Took them outside, vacuumed them, and then I proceeded to use Lexol's leather cleaner on them. Combined that with Kiwi brush to try to help open up the pores and clean it some more. It was in the 80s, and the leather was warm, which helped significantly.

After that, use a microfiber to clean off all the dirt and excess cleaner. Then used the Lexol Leather Conditioner to condition the seats. Same regimen--liberally cover the seats, rub in with a Kiwi brush, let soak in for a while, then wipe clean. They came out much, much cleaner than they were!

Only a few spots here and there are slightly dirty, and mostly on the backs of the seats.

I came across this in my search. Props! I used it on my other car with lighter seats and it came out great.

I just started skimming that and saw that he was using mr clean magic erasers.... those things are awesome for a lot of purposes but you have to be careful what surfaces you use them on because the way they work is they're actually a light abrasive. I'm not sure if our leather is coated or not but if it is then that could be a concern with those.

What's up Z...It's B lol. I bought your blue z32 off of you 12 years ago.

I've had good experiences with Leatherique in the past. I followed these instructions: http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...r-care-how-to/ and put black plastic bags over them out in the sun for a majority of the day.

I got my seats pretty dirty on occasion from working in a machine shop. I eventually cleaned the color off the lower bolstering continuously using an abrasive cleaner. So do be aware/careful of that.
