Craziest RS5 story ever! Anyone here?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
This has got to be the craziest kinda funny RS5 story ever lol. I read this laying in bed last night & it's too good not to share. Is it anyone here? Using it for landscaping purposes like a boss lol.

You have to read all the posts, the part about picking up used Dino oil for $15 was the best from his local jiffy lube. I can't even see how this is possible.

But if this by miracle is all true, I feel for this man. This is not Honda Civic money he put out.

After the "used lawnmower oil" comment I almost fell over. The only thing that confused me even more was that a few posters seems to support this nut. Who knows what this nut job did to the car that he's not even admitting too. Seems like someone with more money than sense.

I'm sure this is a troll post. No one is THAT stupid to add in that kind of oil to any car. Especially a 70-80k car.

If all of that really is true.... Then....I don't want to live on this planet anymore...

but what's wrong with carrying landscaping soil or grocery? Not everyone has a beater or a truck to do daily shopping. I did shopping for landscaping soil, salt, ikea...etc with my E92 335i all the time. I just cover up the trunk liner and with the rear seat fold down. But landscaping oil is a bit scary and is something I will never do! That's remind me when I was a kid, I add tap water as coolant to my dad's tempo and screwed it up...

Sod and a bag of top soil - no big deal. I mean, I almost regularly have a muddy downhill bike in the back of my car. And honestly, I feel bad for the poor guy, I mean he doesnt even realize that cheap oil not designed for this car will break down sooner and burn at a more rapid pace than higher quality oils. Not sure how he made it far enough to buy an RS5 with such limited capacity, even judging from his tone in the post you can just tell he is very mentally disadvantaged. \

Also it has 45k on it - so someone should try to request a vin - i would bet money that car will end up as a CPO in the very near future!

Story is fake, so is his receipt for 50 launches. Once they're used up, they're used up? No one writes like that in official terms on the receit.

    Good laugh though ;)

Nothing, I pick up stuff in my S5 too sometimes since I no longer have my Hummer H3. But purposely throwing it in there without care in there without liner or without cares in a RS5 like him makes my OCD cringe lol. At least a old blanket, I do that when I take my kid to his little league games. Just makes my job that much easier on the weekly clean.

No doubt a troll post IMO.

With that said, many years ago I would load up a push mower and weed eater in the trunk of my '97 A4 to go around the neighborhood mowing lawns. Not quite RS5 status though, lol.

I thought the same Nick. Both of my vehicles currently have loose soil and mulch pieces in the rear. Stuffed a good 12 trees and shrubs in the SQ last week. I first thought this read is going to be weak... nope

I find that the owner of the RS5 that got fed with used oil does not give a damn about cars in general. He's just in it for the status and privilege of owning it for a while (it is leased). As he wrote in his post, the RS5 is just a box with 4 wheels for him. No enthusiasm whatsoever. He now claims to have purchased a BMW M4 and he will also be acquiring a Maserati. What a bag of hot air. I cringe at the fact that soon, when he gets sick and tired of his M4 and Maserati, he'll be feeding them with used oil just because he does not give a rat's arse since he does not technically own them (i.e., leased).

If the car was really that bad why would he hold on to it for that many miles? I get bored after a couple of years with a great running vehicle, a pos would be traded quickly.

that thread does bring up a good point about some of the things RS owners never tell you about .. until now i had no idea RS's had oil consumption issues .. then there is Rotor problems... lack of spare tire.. etc

This story is fake. No one put used lawnmower oil in their cars, let alone an RS5. The pics of that engine bay scream neglect and abuse from wherever he got the pic. This is also the first I've heard of any rs5 with that kind of oil consumption rate. It's usually way less, if any. I put 5k miles on my RS since I've owned it and didn't need to add oil, thankfully.

^I mean if done right, the RS5 wont burn any oil between 5k intervals. Im closing in on 60k miles on mine and still do not burn any oil between my 5k changes. It was a lot of work to get it right, but it is paying off now that I'm considered "high mileage"

While I would not do it in my car, how ever I have at time re-used oil from my dirtbikes in my Lawn-Mowers and truck.. Since I run Shell Rotella T 15-40 in my bike I would re-use it in mostly my lawn mower but Have put it in my Truck. Only key thing is that my bike got an oil change after each day of use. The oil would sit at least a week or two to allow all clutch/alu shavings to have settled on the bottom then through a filter before going into the truck.

Before anyone says I'm crazy, The oil looked just as opaque and golden as it was new. Only reason I don't use it longer in the bike is because of the shear shock and heat soak it went through on a High Reving single cylinder wet clutch bike, It's cheaper/safer to change oil each time then to run it longer and risk catastrophic failure. How ever the oil still good for normal use in another low stress engine.

15-40 is prob the only oil you can use on anything .. i used to use 15-40 in my twin turbo z and my gsx-r 1000 .. Shell Rotella is excellent for turbo cars and trucks as well
