I haven't looked to in depth with the price of OEM badges and all that...

That is most of it. The badges alone are $70 each from the dealer, then add time to prep, paint and buff... they are actually priced very fairly. We are offering free shipping on all badges currently!

I just ordered a blacked out RS 5 trunk badge with the red flag (before the sale started ) and my guess is that they are ordering the chrome OEM Audi badges which according to my local body shop are $75 a piece then are either spraying them black themselves or have a body shop that paints the badges/rings for them so all that is baked into the price. It took several days for the badge to ship after I ordered so that, combined with the badge not coming in an Audi box/bag, and what my local body shop told me when I asked about having them just spray the rings/badge on my car is what leads me to believe they are painted by TAG or contracted by TAG. The local body shop quoted me a little under what TAG had listed for all of their badges too so even though TAG's badges are expensive they are in the same range as having a body shop order OEM Audi badges and painting them black for you.
