That is awesome!! I just replaced mine with the plastic one not too long ago but may look into upgrading to this. How much longer is this expected to last vs the plastic ones?

I'm wondering if the o-ring is more of a common failure point then the actual plastic. If that is the case, then these metal versions will leak as well regardless of their construction.

most of the failures I've seen have been when the o-ring lip fails (literally disintegrates) on the surface mating to the block; this will certainly resolve that type of failure

Warping is also an issue. This is why OEM is always recommended for replacement. They warp less, but the o ring is most times the culprit. I ordered a bunch in different sizes from fcp before, and they have saved me money more than once. Reason being, most times it is just an o ring issue (more than this app).

Common issue I've come across is a leaky Cam chain tensioner gasket gets oil onto the o-ring and boss for it and causes it to degrade causing the coolant leak..

Will this work on a 2003 with the AMB engine?

If not, will one be available for the AMB?

Mine is leaking and I'd rather do the job once and be done with it.

    Thanks...
