Unitronic Stage 2+ vs. Frankenturbo F21/Motoza for an '02 1.8t. Any Experience?

I'm considering tunes for my mostly stock Avant, and I was hoping to get some input. I have driven a friend's A3 with a K04 and Unitronic tune (I know, VERY different animal), and I was very impressed. I know most people with the Frankenturbo setup are making around 235hp at the wheels, and Unitronic Stage 2+ advertises 265hp (assuming that's crank HP), so I'm guessing there's a slight HP advantage with the F21 setup. Does anyone have any driving impressions? Is one better for a daily than the other? I'd prefer it not be too peaky, especially since my generic stage 1+ tune seems a bit peaky already. Thoughts?

i have the unitronic 650cc tune on a gt2871 elim turbo, its not leaky at all. very linear under acceleration, I wish it was more aggressive, around town its smooth, easy to stay out of boost. power is low on the low end.
these could be characteristics more so of the turbo than the software, I'd go with a custom tune. If you can get something from vagautoworks that would be cool, prices have been very fair and service very fast. not sure after recent events if that will remain the same, lets hope so, great guys

I went to the F21 550cc injectors with Motoza from a k04 setup tuned by them as well. I like the F21 setup way better, it will pull to 6k+ where my k04 fell on its face after 5-5500k. It's perfect for my daily driving needs, loads of tq and quick spool. Puts a smile on my face all the time

Good to know! It drives me nuts that my K03 runs out of steam around 5k, and I always assumed the K04 would take car of that. Looks like I'll have to go F21 if I really want to be happy with it.

    RIP Daz 😥

From what I understand, before he passed he wanted his partners there to keep the torch lit and continue on with his vision. Hopefully they succeed, at the very least to do right by him.

He rescued me when I burnt up the ECU in my wife's B7 with a 2.0t. For some reason the first replacement he sent ended up being a dud but the second one is still rocking and rolling. I almost think he put a mild tune on it for me as it is way peppier than it should be, almost as good as my tuned 1.8t. He would never admit it tho, insisting he just did an immo defeat for me. He will surely be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of conversing with him.

I just want to bring to your and others attention USP motorsports sells the eliminator kits for $100-$200 less than what ATP sells them for. $1395 for GTRS. That's a good deal, well known turbo, great power and I'm sure Dave at Motoza would do you right with that turbo.

    http://www.uspmotorsports.com/Engine...dware-Kit.html

    just another option.
