can anyone confirm this is correct? If correct, obviously it should be the same for 99 aeb?

It's close, not complete. That's one a dude put together putting a 1.8t into a vanagon van lol. The Bentley has the full schematic as well.

theres a million threads asking for the pinouts, but this is the best one I found, and of course its incomplete
I just need the list of 80pins, i want to make a plug n play adapter for stand alone and maintain stock harness.

I wanted to do that too, but said fuck it and went maestro lol I'm lazy I guess. And you're right, there isn't anything complete, not from what I found. I started tracing wire by wire using the Bentley.

I dont want to trace all the wires, I figured there has to be a complete list of the 80pins and what they connect to. it would make life easier.

I would have went maestro, but I already have a stand alone unit. plug n play adapter wont be shit to make once I get the 80pin layout

turns out I dont need the pinouts after all. come to find out, my ecu manufacturer has a plug n play so I can use stock harness.

If you're going with a stand-alone, just wire the adapter for the sensors you plan to use. It looks like it has the pin out for all the things you would need: crank sensor, cam sensor, coolant temp, intake temp, throttle position, injectors, coilpacks, fuel pump relay. Then, just make your own power/ground setup for the stand-alone ECU.

dont need cam sensor or maf to run this ecu.

the power supply for the ecu comes through the stock harness, no need for additional wiring

I had the message typed out in the quick reply before you posted that harness. I was talking about if you were going to build your own, it would be best to just wire up the essentials.

Anyway, why doesn't it need the cam sensor? Waste spark setup?

actually, I think it may used cam sensor to run coil on plug, not wasted spark.

so this is what I was told by Karl at Emerald today. "The K3 is not going to work well with the AGU adapter. The external amplifier would need to be bypassed, the idle control motor will not function with the K3."

So I asked them what is needed to bypass the external amplifier and what would the side effects be of no idle control motor on a DBC car. awaiting their response now

By external amplifier are they referring to the ICM?

Im not sure what he meams by external amplifier, im waiting for him to get back to me. my ecu is set up to run 2 tower coil packs to run wasted spark, not coil on plug. emerald said they can upgrade the hardware in my ecu from 2 to 4 ignition drivers to run the coil on plug and use that adapter I linked. this was what they originally said "The ECU would also have to be modified with two extra drivers as well as having the K3 upgrade."

then they later said the external amplifier would need to be bypassed and no idle control function.

if it is the ICM, that has been long gone lol

From my minimal dabbling with stand alones on this car that's what i'd assume (never assume). Let's hope so, then you're already one step closer!

I don't believe DBC cars have an idle air control setup... I'm not too familiar with AEBs though. However, since you're planning to use stand-alone, can't you just run whatever throttle body you want? You might have to change out the connector on the OEM harness to one that would work with the TPS you want to use, but that's about it, I think.

^I think you are right, I dont recall ever seeing an IAC on my aeb, and did a google search and a thread on vortex says aeb doesnt have IAC.

if that's the case, I should be golden since I already have the ICM deleted and I have no IAC

they didnt get back to me yet, but I found this in the manual. dont think its talking about icm lol

"Note: The K3 has internal high power ignition amplifiers. The ECU should be connected directly to the ignition coil; external ignition amplifiers are not required. Some VAG coils have amplifier modules built in, bypass or remove the amplifier if possible. If not, change the coil to a conventional non-amplified coil."
