Question Power Steering pump noisy, anyone want to share what brand they replaced?

The OEM is pretty expensive to replace, anyone have any luck buying an after market one?

Simply filling it up doesn't fix the noise lol. Should I just change the fluid out? I don't think it has at 130k? I feel like the noise will still be there.

    Just bought this one

    https://www.europaparts.com/power-st...d0145156f.html

Unfortunately I'm having trouble getting power steering back. Not sure what it is so I can't fully believe it's NOT the pump yet. I think I just pumped so much air into the system it needs a serious bleed.

edit: I just realized this is for the 2.8 I drive and almost everyone here drives a 1.8 so this probably won't help much.

I can't, but it's being installed on my car right now.

    Read good things about it.

Cool! Yeah I saw the price and thought that was really good compared to ECS. Let me know how it sounds and if the fitment is good. Thanks!

I installed a Meyle power steering replacement pump for my b5 2.8 once in 20 degrees fahrenheit because the fluid pick up hose was leaking fluid on the connection right under drivers side fog light and before i noticed, the bearings were shot in the pump and the reservoir was dry. the replacement isnt that bad if you have all the tools you need prepared. i did mine without putting front in service position.

The Meyle pump still works fine.

Remember to only use Pentosin CHF 11S

I would say OEM. I had a buddy replace his with aftermarket and it's done already. Not even a yea. Installed with a Bentley manual as well. Some parts just save the trouble and go OEM.

Finally got a video up for the noise, I've been told by others it's the sound of the power steering going out. Are there any options without replacing it?

Meyle pumps caused me much headache. I went with the OEM ZF pump on the S4 and it runs fine knock on wood

Luckily my Meyle pump has not failed. Made in China for sure though. oem was not an option for me as my local supplier did not have it in stock. You can install oem pump but if you overlook your pick up and return lines, the pump will fail again.
