    mix/matching exhaust parts

I have a variety of issues going on and one of them is an exhaust leak i am getting from the flex in the downpipe and a pin hole in the y-pipe after the resonator. the mufflers seem to be fine

i do not have a ton of cash at the moment so do not want to spend on $1000 performance exhaust. i was thinking of ordering OE maker downpipe and resonator which is around $280 total and just installing it myself.

the parts im thinking of getting are:

would the resonator hookup to the original mufflers or do i need to get those too?

    any help dear friends?

my OEM mufflers are good enough - i wanted to get OEM style resonator and catbacks.

has anyone else mixed/matched their exhaust parts as such?

The downpipe you linked is the Genuine Audi downpipe. We also carry Bosal exhaust parts and have had great feed back about them. You should be good to go if that's all you plan on replacing.

Though you may need to source some extra exhaust clamps since I'm pretty sure you need to cut the center resonator out from the rear mufflers to install the new one. Below is the part number for the proper clamp.

I have the bosal downpipe on my car and it fits excellent. The resonator u picked should be fine. But I'd pull it off first and see where exactly is leaking. Slap some exhaust putty on it or have your local meineke put a weld on it. Get the bosal downpipe and be done for under $200.
