This weekend, I FINALLY got a chance to get the S4 out on a little autocross course. As expected, there was lots of understeer and tire squealing, but I can't think of the last time I did something that fun!
After the first heat (and about 25 minutes of cooldown time in between) I got back in, started it up, and the EPC light was on. No actual MIL lamp. Before I took off, I ran the codes with Carista and got a cylinder 1 misfire in OBD2 and some emergency system active in VAG-COM. I cleared the misfire and ran a lap to see if it would come back/if I noticed any sluggishness. Everything seemed to go fine, and I've even put about 100 miles on it since with no return of the light.
I do have the Chipwerke, though I think it is set at either 4-1 or 3-1 to be safer. I can only assume that is why I got the warning. I'm thinking that since it didn't come back, it is probably okay now. My initial reaction is that with the extra boost, maybe a cooler spark plug is necessary?
Just looking for some thoughts!
